“Get rid”- Ange Postecoglou sack claim made amidst amid poor Tottenham run

Tottenham Hotspur head coach Ange Postecoglou has been under ample pressure following a run of inconsistent form off late that has started to get under supporters nerves.

Spurs have been playing some underwhelming performances off late, and their performance against Ipswich Town at White Hart Lane was one of those, as the hosts were defeated by Premier League newcomers in a surprise result. Kieran McKenna’s side played with intent and were rewarded for their finely executed game plan, while the Lilywhites failed to show the necessary intensity and composure in front of goal as the visitors went into halftime with a two-goal lead.

While the North Londoners were able to grab one in the second half, they couldn’t penetrate the first with a second till the final whistle as the Tractor Boys took away all three points from the N17 in what was their first win in the English top tier this season.

Call for Ange to be sacked?

The result compounded by the performances off late has got Spurs supporters fuming as many call for head coach Ange Postecoglou to be sacked as they call for change. However, despite calls for sacks, ex-Lilywhites scout Bryan King doesn’t think the former Celtic manager will be relieved of his duties by Daniel Levy. Although he does believe that the club chairman needs to sit down with the head coach and have an honest conversation about the current situation.

Speaking in an exclusive interview with Tottenham News, King said:

“I feel the last thing Levy wants to do is get rid of Postecoglou.

“However, I think they need to sit down and have a chat about the performances, that is for sure.

“Whether or not that will happen, I don’t know. However, what Postecoglou and his staff need to do is bring a bit of belief into the team again and get some consistency in results.”

Going into the international break, Spurs now lay tenth in the Premier League table, which is far away from their season objective to finish in the top four. It is to be seen how the club now responds after the international break.
