Tottenham uged to loan out talent ‘most in need’ as development risks stalling

Tottenham Hotspur have been blessed with an abundance of talent at Hotspur Way, with each of the young players having the capacity to make an impact for the North Londoners’ first team in the coming years as Daniel Levy looks to build a pipeline of players from the academy to the senior roster, and one of those highly regarded talents is Alfie Dorrington.

With the blessing to have ample youngsters budding in the corridors of White Hart Lane, a responsibility to ensure the development of these promising players falls heavily on the club’s coaching staff and management.

And as the American businessman at the helm of Spurs continues to prioritise bringing in academy graduates into the senior squad, it is essential for the club to create a pathway that will allow these players like Alfie Dorrington to take strides in their game and ultimately develop the capability to contribute for the Lilywhites in the long term. And in order to do so, the North Londoners have signed an agreement with Westerlo, which will allow the Premier League heavyweights to send players to the Belgian side to get accustomed to men’s football.

John Wenham, owner of the reputable Spurs podcast Lilywhite Rose, thinks Alfie Dorrington could join the Belgian side on loan and benefit from the collaboration between the clubs. Speaking in an exclusive interview with Tottenham News, he said:

“I find these talks between the two clubs very interesting. It tells me that there is going to be future loan deals happening between the two sides. Therefore, I think Dorrington could be a player to benefit from this. He is somebody who I think is most in need of a loan at the moment.”

Dorrington is highly rated among the academy at Hotspur Way, and he could well be one of the next players to make the loan transfer to Westerlo, which would be a fantastic opportunity for him as he looks to take strides into senior football.
