Tottenham interested in potential deal for Chelsea star Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall.

Chelsea outcast Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall on Tottenham Hotspur radar

Tottenham Hotspur showed ambition during the summer transfer window, spending more than £120million on new signings. It included Dominic Solanke becoming the Lilywhites’ club-record signing thanks to completing a £65million switch from Premier League rivals Bournemouth.

Things have not been great for Ange Postecoglou and Tottenham so far this season. Their inconsistency in results and performances continued last weekend when newly promoted Ipswich Town came to north London and won 2-1—their first points of the campaign.

And after a poor start to the new season, technical director Johan Lange and chairman Daniel Levy are working behind the scenes to identify potential recruits, as Ange Postecoglou goes in search of ending Spurs’ long wait to add to the trophy cabinet.

According to the exclusive Daily Briefing from CaughtOffside, Tottenham are among a few clubs interested in signing Chelsea outcast Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall in the January transfer window.

Kiernan Dewsbury-Hal played a pivotal role in Leicester City’s remarkable Championship title-winning campaign last season under manager Enzo Maresca. As the Blues’ boss swapped Leicester for Chelsea in the summer, the Italian persuaded the midfielder to make the move to Stamford Bridge. A reunion appeared to make perfect sense.

However, the former England youth international has largely been relegated to appearances in the cup competitions since arriving at Chelsea, totalling just 43 minutes of action across three Premier League games. In fact, he has struggled to secure a spot in the Pensioners’ Premier League matchday squads in recent weeks.

With the likes of Moises Caicedo, Romeo Lavia, and Enzo Fernandez ahead of him in the midfield pecking order, Dewsbury-Hall continues to remain out of the picture in west London. The aforementioned report adds the 26-year-old could be allowed to leave Chelsea in January, putting Spurs, Manchester United and Newcastle United on red alert.

Transfer boost for Tottenham as European giants look at alternative options to Pedro Porro.
Should Big Ange look at Dewsbury-Hall as a potential option to improve Tottenham’s midfield?

Spurs aren’t devoid of options in the middle of the park, although with James Maddison royally struggling for form, Yves Bissouma inconsistent and Rodrigo Bentancur set to be slapped with a seven-game domestic ban by the FA for off-field issues, Big Ange may be tempted to go for a midfielder in January. Dewsbury-Hall, in that regard, would be a good fit.

Capable of operating in multiple positions in the engine room, Dewsbury-Hall, who was an assist machine for Leicester in the Championship last term, could bring the creative spark that Spurs have lacked at times this season. The Nottingham-born talent has the attributes to thrive in Big Ange’s fast-paced and aggressive system, providing Tottenham with gusto and dynamism.

Thus, if the Blues make Dewsbury-Hall available for loan in the winter window, we must look to bring him across the capital to the Hotspur Way.
