Tottenham stuck a fair few deals in the summer, and most of them focused on getting in stars of tomorrow.
South Korean teenager Yang Min-hyeok was one such star roped in during the summer. He was set to join the club in January, though there has now been a change of plans at virtually the last moment.
Yang Min-hyeok asked to arrive at Tottenham earlier than January
As reported by Sports ChoSun, Tottenham have requested Gangwon to let Yang Min-hyeok go mid-December.
The 18-year-old South Korean sensation was confirmed as a Spurs player in the summer and was previously set to arrive in North London in January, though the Lilywhites now want him earlier.
The K League 1 season ends later this month, and Gangwon are currently third in the league standings.
Yang’s overall numbers for Gangwon at senior level read thus: 37 games, 11 goals, 6 assists.
Will he play?
Tottenham’s interest in integrating Yang into the first team even a month earlier than previous planned hints at the possibility of more than one wide forwards leaving the club in January.
Ange Postecoglou has many flaws, but he has an exemplary record with youngsters, and the club will want that to continue with Yang, at least in terms of having him integrated into the setup.
