Tottenham star rediscovers goalscoring touch ahead of Manchester City clash.

Tottenham Hotspur captain Son Heung-min delivered a fantastic goalscoring performance for South Korea against Kuwait in the World Cup Qualifier. Son captained his nation to a 3-1 victory in the first November international break game and scored his 50th goal.

Spurs have struggled with consistency this season, winning only 10 out of their 17 games in all competitions so far. The Lilywhites have lost six of those games randomly, showcasing complacency and lack of conviction to build a long-lasting form.

As manager Ange Postecoglou faces huge pressure to rectify this perennial issue at Spurs, he will depend on veteran players. No one is as important to the Spurs as Son and his leadership, experience and match-winning history for the club.

According to Sofascore, the 32-year-old completed 85% of his passes with 44 touches, demonstrating his influence in the buildup play. The Korean captain won 100% aerial duels and two ground duels during the game, forcing two fouls out of opponents.

Son scored his 50th goal for the nation after winning the penalty himself in the 19th minute of the game. The 32-year-old earned a well-deserved rest in the 64th minute after Jun-Ho Bae substituted him as a direct swap.

Son’s form and fitness are vital as Spurs prepare for a challenging fixture against Manchester City following the international break. Historically, Son has acted as a constant bother for Man City while delivering important contributions for the Lilywhites.

In the previous five encounters, the 32-year-old has accumulated two goals and three assists, reflecting his significant contributions against City. The defending champions are currently struggling with their form, having lost the last four games in all competitions.
