Former Tottenham keeper blames player’s agent for ‘noises’ amidst January exit links

Opinion- Postecoglou's stubbornness could spell the end of Tottenham star that club 'cant afford' to lose.

Tottenham Hotspur defender Radu Dragusin has been linked with a move away from the Premier League heavyweights as the former Juventus centre back struggles to aggregate minutes under his belt at White Hart Lane.

The Romanian moved to North London at the commencement of the ongoing year following an exceptional half season for Genoa; however, he hasn’t been given opportunities to replicate his Serie A form in the Premier League, and Italian clubs are looking to take advantage of his frustrations on the bench as they fortify interests in landing him in the upcoming winter transfer window.

Now, with several Italian clubs circling, there is a possibility that Dragusin could push for a move away given his limited opportunities in North London.

That being said, he has been featuring regularly off late, owing to Micky van de Ven’s hamstring injury, which basically moots points about lack of game time and raises questions about whether he can now take a more prominent role in the squad with his performances.

Agent driving Dragusin interest?

Tottenham Hotspurs defender Radu Dragusin has reportedly made a decision on his rumored exit from the club.
Tottenham Hotspurs defender Radu Dragusin has been subject to exit links.

And former Tottenham goalkeeper Paul Robinson insists that Radu Dragusin’s agent making “noises” could be attributed to the reasons the Romanian has been subject to links away from North London.

Speaking in an exclusive interview with Tottenham News, Robinson said:

“Agents do that, players do that. They can get noises out there via various means, and now with the number of media outlets, it only takes one story for you to plant an acorn and soon you’ve got an oak tree. I don’t think Tottenham do any deals for Dragusin in January, loan or permanent. He’s only just signed and Spurs fans haven’t seen the best of him yet. He will get a run of games with Romero and van de Ven’s injury and disciplinary records.

“He’ll be frustrated with the lack of game time but there is no way that Spurs will let him go in January.”

At the moment, if the player capitalises on this newfound playing time, which gives him an inroad into Ange Postecoglou’s eleven, Radu may earn a spot in the rotation, which will play a domino effect on links away and put any potential January move in doubt. However, if his involvement remains irregular, the interest from Italy can soon turn into a more pressing transfer saga.
