Tottenham Hotspur forward Richarlison has been a consistent presence on the treatment table since he has moved to White Hart Lane. The Brazilian suffered from another injury setback, as he is now scheduled to miss months away from the game.
The former Watford star has only managed to feature for 88 minutes in the English top tier this season. And he has now suffered a hamstring problem that should limit his involvement going into the busy winter period, which will further complicate Ange Postecoglou‘s offensive options as they approach an important stretch of matches in the upcoming weeks.
Richarlison faces lengthy injury layoff
With a packed schedule, complemented by the ongoing injuries concerns to key players, Richarlison’s absence will add further pressure on head coach Ange Postecoglou to find potential solutions up front. And injury expert Dr Rajpal Brar suggests that the 27-year-old is expected to be on the sidelines for months with a potential Grade 4 hamstring injury.
Speaking in an exclusive interview with Tottenham News, Dr. Brar suggests that Richy has been caught up in a ‘vicious injury cycle’ and the club will have to be smart about nurturing him back to full fitness.
He said:
“This sounds like a Grade 3 or 4 hamstring injury, which would mean months away.
“Unfortunately, he looks to be caught in a vicious injury cycle at the moment.
“His training return will be one of methodically ramping up his strength and conditioning along with sport-specific activities and then gradually getting him game minutes.“
With the current situation, Richy is expected to serve the sidelines at least till January or February, and Dominic Solanke will again be tasked to be the sole option upfront. This also opens up a place for 19-year-old Hotspur Way graduate Will Lankshear to get some minutes under his belt.
