Tottenham forward Richarlison is expected to be out until the New Year with a hamstring injury
It is difficult to imagine the number of injuries Tottenham Hotspur have suffered since the start of the 2024/25 season.
Several key players have spent time in the treatment room which has had a direct impact on the Lilywhites’ performances on the pitch. One of them is Richarlison.
The Brazilian international has suffered a series of injuries that have kept him sidelined since the start of 2024. The latest of which has been a hamstring injury suffered during the 4-1 win over Aston Villa earlier this month, ruling the 27-year-old out for a significant period of time. Before that, he had missed nine games with a calf problem.
As per reports, Tottenham are concerned that their chances of attracting a big-money offer for Richarlison have been jeopardised with the forward potentially sidelined for the rest of 2024. Keeping that in mind, ex-scout Bryan King thinks Richarlison could leave Tottenham on loan rather than being sold in January.
“I think they should have got rid of Richarlison in the summer,” Bryan King exclusively told Tottenham News.
“I’ve never been happy with him as a club man. I had friends at Everton who said Richarlison had a lot of potential, but he wasn’t a good club man.
“I think he’s proven that at Tottenham because for the money he cost, and the goals he has scored, it isn’t a good return. Therefore, I can’t see anybody in England paying the kind of money Tottenham did, no chance. Perhaps he will leave the club on loan in January.
“I just can’t see any clubs offering a fee for him. I think it would have to be a loan move. However, it would probably have to be a loan abroad, but it has got to be the right deal for Tottenham. Selling him in January when he isn’t going to be fit until the new year, that won’t be easy.”
Richarlison has been an inconsistent presence in the Spurs squad, with his consistent injury issues keeping him sidelined from representing the club on a regular basis. The chiefs at Hotspur Way are understood to be growing frustrated with the South American, and they are looking to ship him away from N17 in the upcoming windows.
For the forward, he would be hoping to put behind his injury woes and show his quality in front of goal when he returns. However, he is unlikely to return until the new year and will miss a lot of games in the meantime.

The North Londoners had thought of easing Richarlison back into the mix after he returned from injury at the end of last month. They had hoped to see him gradually regain full fitness, rediscover his form and catch the eye of his suitors enough to make a big-money offer.
But chances of that happening appear slim and Tottenham might have no alternative but to loan the Brazilian out during the winter window. It is fair to say that Tottenham could have spent the £50m plus better elsewhere.
