TottenhamHotspur star Dejan Kulusevski reveals enjoyment at playing Manchester City
Tottenham Hotspur put in their best performance of 2024/25 so far as they humbled Manchester City 4-0 in the Premier League, thanks to a brace from James Maddison and one goal apiece from Pedro Porro and Brennan Johnson in the second half. However, one player that stood out was Dejan Kulusevski, who provided an assist and impressed in the engine room.
He has a formidable record versus Manchester City and extended it with his first-half assist to Maddison. Kulusevski played a fantastic ball from the right wing into the box, which his English teammate tapped home neatly to open the scoring. The Swede also created the chance which led to the team’s third goal, which was notched home by Porro.
After the match, Kulusevski spoke about how much he enjoys playing against the Cityzens and said the following words, as quoted by Mirror.
“I believed (we would win) this because in the past years, we’ve come here and played really well. So this is the game I look forward to most in the year and, once again, it happened – glory to God.”
In all competitions, the former Juventus star has won four matches out of the eight which he has played against Pep Guardiola’s side, scoring three goals and providing five assists in the process. In the Premier League, Kulusevski has six goal contributions, split equally over goals and assists. This season, he also set up Timo Werner’s goal in the 2-1 win over them in the Carabao Cup.
Kulusevski has transformed into a world-class player over the last few months and his mentality has taken his game to the next level. Gary Neville also backed him for a significant career upgrade by stating that the likes of Barcelona and Real Madrid could soon knock on his door, thus offering him the chance to be a part of a glorious sporting project at one of the world’s most successful clubs.

Spurs take on AS Roma next in the UEFA Europa League before returning to action in the Premier League with a clash against Fulham. Kulusevski will have more chances at impressing in both those matches and it will be interesting to see what he does after a morale-boosting win over Manchester City last time out.
