Hammarby talent Bazoumana Toure is being eyed by Tottenham

Tottenham Hotspur have been looking to build on their productive summer transfer window as they look to bring in more highly regarded prospects at the club.

Daniel Levy and Co. are doing everything they can to help Ange Postecoglou develop a squad that realistically challenges for the Premier League title in the next couple of years. They are working on the newly adopted strategy of signing high-potential young players and developing them within the corridors of the Hotspur Way.

Spurs agreed a deal with Djurgarden IF for Lucas Bergvall in early February, beating competition from Barcelona. The teenage prodigy officially arrived at the club in July. Now, the North Londoners are planning to raid Allsvenskan again for a special young talent.

According to reputed Sky Germany reporter Florian Plettenberg, Tottenham are among several clubs monitoring Hammarby talent Bazoumana Toure. The likes of Arsenal, Bayer Leverkusen, RB Leipzig and Wolfsburg are also interested in the teenager.

Bazoumana Toure, one of the highly rated prospects in Allsvenskan, enjoyed a strong 2023/24 season with Hammarby. He scored nine goals and supplied a further four assists in 23 league games as Hammarby finished runners-up to Malmo.

Spurs’ interest in the Ivory Coast under-20 international perhaps stems from the fact that Son Heung-min is in the final eight months of his contract and will turn 33 in July. Although the club are expected to trigger a one-year contract extension, Son’s long-term future doesn’t look secure. Plus, Timo Werner is expected to be let go after the expiry of his loan deal owing to his hugely inconsistent displays.

In Wilson Odobert and incoming South Korean talent Yang Min-Hyeok, the Lilywhites have done well to bolster the left-wing department. Adding Toure to the mix would add much-needed depth to the area of the squad.

Levy’s interest in signing Toure shows the focus to bolster the attacking options at N17 with a particular eye for the future, and while there are some promising kids coming through the academy such as Mikey Moore, bringing in another highly-rated winger could aid healthy competition and offer depth at White Hart Lane in the long run.

Toure has a long-term contract until December 2028 (Transfermarkt), so Hammarby are in a great position to ask a big fee for their talent. That said, Spurs must do everything within their powers to beat other clubs to the Ivorian winger’s signature next year.
