Tottenham could land Arsenal target Evan Ferguson in January.

Spurs in the recent transfer windows have been exemplary when it comes to getting in exciting young players.

To that end, they may have a chance come January to get in a long-time target of theirs, a player whose current club have given him the green light to leave.

Tottenham could land Arsenal target Evan Ferguson in January.

Tottenham linked with Evan Ferguson

Brighton forward Evan Ferguson is likely to be loaned out in January, as reported by The Telegraph.

The 20-year-old, who arrived onto the scene with aplomb during the 2021/22 season, has lost his Midas touch over the past year, with both injuries and dips in form having dropped the stock of the Republic of Ireland striker that was once valued at £60 million.

Tottenham, having been linked with the young striker as early as the start of last year, are going to monitor his situation in a month’s time as reported by transfer insider Graeme Bailey.

“Spurs like Evan Ferguson. Chelsea and Arsenal too, he is very much still regarded as one of the best young strikers in Europe.

“He has just been caught in the that perfect storm where he wasn’t fit and Brighton have been flying with Joao Pedro and Danny Welbeck, and Georginio Rutter coming in.

“Brighton still love him and don’t want to sell, but they are set to let him go on loan. Whether Ferguson still feels the same about Brighton remains to be seen.

“Spurs will be keeping a close eye on him during his possible loan, they still rate him highly.”

Bailey on Spurs’ interest in Ferguson, as quoted by The Spurs News.

Ferguson’s Brighton record stands thus: 17 goals and five assists in 74 appearances. He currently has a £30k-per-week contract that will keep him at the Amex until June 2029.

Depending on the terms…

Spurs could do a lot worse than taking a punt on Ferguson in January itself. Given Son Heung-min’s worrying form, Richarlison’s worrying form and injury concerns, as well as the exit rumours surrounding the two, it is safe to say Spurs could do with another presence in the centre up front.

More Tottenham News:

In terms of profile, Ferguson is not too different from Dominic Solanke, and Ange Postecoglou has already demonstrated himself to be an exceptional coach with young players. If Brighton are serious about boosting their young forward’s market valuation, they should absolutely consider aligning their target with Spurs’ needs going into the second half of the season.
