Tottenham Hotspur have been looking to bring in a new midfielder in the upcoming 2025 transfer intervals, and AC Milan midfielder Tijjani Reijnders has been subject to intensive links with a move to North London.
The Lilywhites have been looking to compound their options in the middle of the park given how Ange Postecoglou is left thin in alternatives of midfielders who can do a bit of everything. Spurs did try to pursue a move for Conor Gallagher for the past couple of summer transfer windows to cement such cracks in the roster; however, any move couldn’t conclude, and now Spurs are looking at the Dutch maestro as an alternative to the England midfielder who eventually moved to Atletico Madrid.
Spurs set sights on AC Milan’s Reijnders, but Milan’s extension talks can complicate move
The Italian side signed Reijnders in a €20 million deal from AZ Alkmaar, albeit he will be valued along the lines of €50 million, given the likes of Manchester City, Arsenal, Chelsea, and Real Madrid have been pursuing his signature alongside Tottenham. However, what comes as a massive blow to the aforementioned clubs, Reijnders representatives have intensified talks with Milan over a possible contract extension as he looks to multiply on his €41,923 gross per week wages at San Siro, per Calciomercato.
With AC Milan keen on getting the 1998-born midfielder’s long-term future sorted, Spurs pursuit of his services will face an increasingly uphill battle, and while Reijnders fits the mould of the versatile yet dynamic player that Ange Postecoglou is looking to add to his midfield, the Italian giant’s intention to extend his contract could prove a decisive factor.
