Reinforcements are certainly required next month if Ange Postecoglou wants to maintain his side’s top-four push as well as win a trophy this season. According to a report from Italian outlet Tutto Juve, Tottenham are showing interest in signing Juventus midfielder Nicolo Fagioli but face competition from Premier League rivals Crystal Palace. Ligue 1 side Olympic Marseille are also keen on the player.

Having come up through the young ranks at Juventus, Nicolo Fagioli made his senior debut back in January 2021. He is yet to cement his place in the starting XI, clocking 61 appearances across all competitions for the Turin giants.

The seven-cap Italy international, who was slapped with a seven-month ban by the Italian Football Federation for breaching betting rules in October 2023, has started only four of 11 Serie A games this season under new boss Thiago Motta. Fagioli has been handed different roles across the midfield by Motta, and while it is too early to talk about an exit, the aforementioned report adds Juventus will study any offer they receive in January.

Tottenham does have a vast array of midfield options available to them in the squad at the moment, including Archie Gray, Pape Matar Sarr, Yves Bissouma, Rodrigo Bentancur and Lucas Bergvall. But, they do lack that additional strength in depth, and a player like Fagioli could well thrive Big Ange at Spurs, with the 59-year-old promoting youth ever since he arrived at the club last year.

Tottenham expected to imminently discuss winter transfer strategy with Postecoglou.
