Tottenham to fly in Asian star befor Christmas; 2024-25 role mooted

Tottenham Hotspur are eyeing Andrei Ratiu to potentially replace Pedro Porro.

Tottenham will be boosted by the earlier arrival of South Korean prodigy Yang Min-hyuk

Tottenham Hotspur did some fine business during the past summer transfer window, reinforcing their pool of young talents. Archie Gray, Lucas Bergvall and Wilson Odobert were the young guns that arrived at N17 in the summer, with Daniel Levy continuing to finetune Ange Postecoglou’s squad.

Similar to how the Lilywhites agreed a deal with IF Djurgarden for Bergvall in February before the Swedish midfielder officially arrived at the club in July, they managed to strike a deal with a South Korean prodigy.

Spurs signed talented winger Yang Min-hyuk on a five-year deal from Gangwon FC in July. After putting pen to paper on the dotted lines, he became the youngest Korean to join a Premier League club at 18 years and 103 days old.

The North Londoners decided to swoop in for Yang Min-hyuk after he burst onto the scene at K-League at the start of this year. The initial plan was for the teenage winger to remain at Gangwon FC for the rest of the year before arriving at Hotspur Way in January. However, it now turns out that the club have had a change of heart.

According to The Daily Telegraph journalist Mike McGrath via X, Yang Min-hyuk will be flown to England by Tottenham before Christmas to prepare him to make an immediate impact in January.

The K-League season has ended on November 24 and it looks like Spurs want the South Asian talent to cut short his holiday and arrive in London. This request may have come from Ange Postecoglou due to the injury crisis his squad are facing currently.

With Richarlison, Wilson Odobert and Mikey Moore all sidelined, the 59-year-old has very limited options as far as the wide department is concerned. Son Heung-min is 32 and has been in and out of the team this season due to a hamstring issue, whereas Timo Werner continues to blow hot and cold.

Therefore, Postecoglou might want another wide option to rotate his squad during the gruelling run of fixtures, especially with his squad ravaged by injury problems. Yang arriving a bit earlier than expected will help him to acclimatize to the new surroundings and make an impact for the club in the second half of the season.

This may assist the teenage prodigy to make a strong start to life in his new chapter in North London. Yang is coming off the back of a strong breakout season in men’s football, having bagged 12 goals and six assists in 38 games.

So, Big Ange, who is in desperate need of some kind of inspiration from elsewhere, could benefit from having a fresh face in Yang ready to make his name in the Premier League now.
