Jason Cundy gives surprising prediction for Tottenham vs Chelsea

Date:

Tottenham Hotspur are set to face Chelsea in the Premier League fixture for Gameweek 15 as the North Londoners host Enzo Maresca’s side at White Hart Lane this Sunday.

Spurs will be looking to get back from Thursday night’s defeat against Bournemouth as Ange Postecoglou will have heavy pressure on his shoulders to come out with a big result in front of his home crowd as his squad is yet to meet up to the high demands and standards that the supporters expect out of the North Londoners.

While Chelsea, they come into the game on the back of a 5-1 win against Southampton on Wednesday night, which saw the Blues move just seven points behind leaders Liverpool. However, despite the bright start to the campaign, Enzo Marseca is still missing a win against a big six side to announce their title charge, and a struggling Tottenham could just be the opponents they do it against.

That being said, former Blue Jason Cundy insists that the game could be a thumping block to the high-flying Chelsea, as he thinks that the game would end in a 1-1 draw.

Speaking on TalkSport, Cundy said:

“1-1. I hope I’m wrong. It just feels like it’s going to be a draw. A draw is not a bad result by the way. It feels like a bit of a tricky one for us. I’m going to go draw.”

While on paper Chelsea may have the edge at the moment, Tottenham have shown to be an unpredictable side, which means Ange’s side could never be counted out, particularly in front of the home crowd that is demanding a reaction following Thursday’s setback.

For Spurs, anything less than a competitive performance on the pitch will only intensify calls for change at the helm, and while Chelsea will be keen to prove that they can handle the pressure of being title contenders, this is Ange’s game to lose.
