Tottenham may not have had the best start to the season, struggling to compete with their big-six rivals. Bryan King believes “something’s not right at Tottenham” amid their recent difficulties.
The former Spurs scout feels Ange Postecoglou is under increasing pressure in North London, with fans growing frustrated after following their recent run of disappointing games.
Managers at Tottenham are constantly under scrutiny, with the pressure for trophies growing more intense than ever. Currently, Ange Postecoglou is facing the immense pressure from both the board and the fans. However, according to TBR Football, Daniel Levy is not yet panicking about Postecoglou’s position, and Tottenham still maintains faith in the 59-year-old.
Despite this, Bryan King, speaking to Tottenham News, believes it will take significant effort for the club to end their trophy drought this season. King added, “I’m not going to say it is the beginning of the end for Postecoglou.”
Bryan King believes the Australian is under immense pressure
In Tottenham’s recent 1-0 defeat to Bournemouth at the Vitality Stadium, Ange Postecoglou was seen arguing with away fans, stating, “I didn’t like what was being said because I’m a human being!” This incident highlights the pressure he’s under. As a manager, clashing with supporters after a loss is far from ideal. Postecoglou had previously made a bold claim, stating he wins trophies in his second season.
However, it now seems it will take a monumental effort for him to turn things around and secure a trophy for Tottenham this season. With Spurs standing far beyond the top four place, their Premier League title hopes appear distant. Bryan King expressed that something isn’t right at Tottenham, with the team displaying the same inconsistency that has plagued them for years—beating top teams but failing to secure expected results against others.
Bryan King speaking to Tottenhamnews, expressed that Ange is under immense pressure
“However, he is under pressure. Arguing with the supporters after a defeat is the last thing that you would want as a manager. He has stated that he wins trophies in his second season. It was a bold statement, and it looks as though it is going to take a Herculean act for Postecoglou to turn things around and lead Tottenham to a trophy this season.
“You can forget the Premier League title, they’re 10th in the league. Something’s not right at Tottenham. The players are showing an inconsistency, which is been Spurs’ problem since Postecoglou arrived. They’ll beat big teams, and then lose against teams where they’re expected to get a result.”
