St Patrick’s Athletic forward Mason Melia is on the radar of Tottenham
Tottenham Hotspur have been looking to bring in a backup striker given Richarlison‘s constant struggles at White Hart Lane.
The Brazilian forward has endured another grim campaign in North London, owing to injury problems. He has barely been involved for Ange Postecoglou’s side, with back-to-back hamstring issues keeping him on the treatment table.
Richarlison’s struggles to establish himself at Spurs has left the chiefs at the Hotspur Way frustrated. They could be backing their youth policy as Tottenham look to strengthen their interests in signing St Patrick’s Athletic striker Mason Melia. However, it appears a Serie A club have already gone ahead of Spurs in the race to sign the youngster.

According to an exclusive report from Football Insider, Bologna have submitted a £1.6million bid for Mason Melia.
The teenager has bagged 10 senior goals in his career so far, catching the attention of scouts from several European clubs in the last 18 months. The Republic of Ireland under-19 international got promoted to St Patrick’s Athletic senior side in the summer of 2023 and has already featured in over 50 matches.
The forward, who is under contract at his boyhood club until November 2026 (Transfermarkt), has already got a taste of European football after playing in UEFA Conference League qualifying rounds earlier this year. And it is not surprising that Melia’s sensational rise has alerted plenty of clubs across the continent.

Bologna have firmed up their interest by tabling a bid ahead of luring him to Italy. However, the aforementioned report adds Spurs remain in pole position to sign the striker, who has visited the club’s training base and was a matchday guest against Chelsea last weekend.

If successful negotiations take place with St Patrick’s Athletic, Melia could end up making a move to Spurs, but not until he turns 18 in September 2025. It would also see the Lilywhites bolster their pool of young talents with high potential, having acquired the services of teenage trio Lucas Bergvall, Archie Gray and Min-hyeok Yang during the past summer transfer window.

Tottenham may supposedly be leading the race for Melia but it is Bologna who have made the first move to sign him. That said, if the North Londoners are truly keen on signing him, they must act and table a better bid than the Italian side.
