Tottenham backed to part ways with 28-year-old English international in 2025

Tottenham Hotspur midfielder James Maddison has been enduring a tough campaign as he lost his place in Ange Postecoglou’s starting eleven at White Hart Lane to Swedish wide forward cum attacking midfielder Dejan Kulusevski

The England international has had quite a few underwhelming performances this season, and the recent snub wouldn’t do a lot for his confidence, which was already low following him missing out on the EURO squad in the summer.

Former scout hints at Maddison clear out

James Maddison could be on his way out this summer.

With the frustrations mounting for the former Leicester City star, former Tottenham scout Bryan King claims that the 28-year-old, who has only tallied one assist in the English top tier this season, will be one of three first-team players who could be shown the doors at Hotspur Way in the upcoming summer transfer window.

King insists that Maddison is on the chopping block given his underwhelming performances and the fact that Daniel Levy is looking to clear out all the surplus at White Hart Lane. Speaking in an exclusive interview with Tottenham News, a former Spurs employee insists that Yves Bissouma and Richarlison could be on Maddison’s trail out of White Hart Lane.

He said:

“Bissouma is playing regular football in the Premier League. Therefore, Tottenham will certainly at least want the fee back that they paid for him. I would say that they might be prepared to let him go for somewhere between £25-35 million.

“I think Richarlison might join him as well, and I’m not 100 percent convinced that Maddison won’t also be part of the summer clearout at Tottenham.”

Spurs, all together, have been inconsistent this season, and there are ample uncertainties surrounding the club, including that of Maddison. We could see another potential summer of exodus, which underscores the Lilywhites willingness to make bold moves to revamp the squad at Ange’s disposal (if he were to keep his job at White Hart Lane).

A lot surrounding Maddison will likely depend on his performances in the latter half of the campaign.
