Tottenham Hotspur centre forward Richarlison has been linked with a move away from White Hart Lane given his struggles to find his feet at N17, and there is a possibility of a January exit for the Brazilian ace with the chiefs at Hotspur Way growing frustrated with the former Watford ace.
Richy moved to N17 from Everton in a highly coveted transfer worth £60m; however, he has only scored 16 goals in the two years donning the Lilywhites colours, with inconsistency in front of goal complemented by his availability problems owing to injuries restricting his output. Speaking on the injury front, his consistent presence in the treatment room in the ongoing campaign has limited him to only 88 minutes of football in the Premier League.
Newcastle United express interest in Richarlison
With Daniel Levy and Spurs open to selling Richarlison, Premier League side Newcastle United have emerged as contenders to land the striker, with journalist Ben Jacobs citing a move to St. James Park as a possibility as the player remains open to an exit from the North London club in 2025.
Jacobs speaking on the NUFC Matters YouTube channel said:
“I’m told the player’s changed his mind in the last few months and is willing to leave Spurs in 2025. But because of his aspirations to play in the 2026 World Cup, he doesn’t want to go to Saudi Arabia.”
Given how Richarlison’s £90,000-per-week wages, complemented by his injury record, are becoming a concern at White Hart Lane, the Lilywhites may look to offload the player in the upcoming January window, especially if a suitable offer comes in for the Brazilian’s signature.
Moreover, looking at it from Daniel Levy’s perspective, cutting ties with Richarlison will not only help to retain a reasonable fee that the club invested in him but also will free up resources for further striking transfers.
