Tottenham keeping close tabs on prodigious Greek duo; scouts busy with a keen eye

Olympiacos teenage talents Charalampos Kostoulas and Christos Mouzakitis are on the radar of Tottenham

Tottenham Hotspur returned to winning ways on Sunday, but they still need some help in the January transfer window.

Ange Postecoglou has endured a frustrating 2024/25 season so far. Spurs have shown they can annihilate teams on their day, but they have also suffered a few disappointing defeats. The 5-0 thrashing of Southampton at the St Mary’s Stadium was much-needed for Ange Postecoglou after a run of five games without a victory.

The Greek-Aussie tactician’s squad has been severely hit with injuries, with as many as 10 first-team players missing the trip to Southampton last time out. With the injury situation unlikely to ease in recent weeks, Tottenham are expected to be active in the January transfer window.

Big Ange has nurtured young talents at Tottenham since arriving in 2023

According to an exclusive report from TBR Football, Tottenham have sent scouts to watch Olympiacos’ young duo Charalampos Kostoulas and Christos Mouzakitis. The scouts have been doing their homework this season and were present in Athens last Thursday to watch the Greek starlets play in a 0-0 draw against Dutch side FC Twente in the Europa League.

Charalampos Kostoulas and Christos Mouzakitis—both 17—have already been making waves in the Super League Greece. They have established themselves in the Olympiacos first-team under Jose Luis Mendilibar this season, showing their talent in the Europa League.

Kostoulas is a striker, scoring three goals in 11 league appearances so far this season. In regard to Mouzakitis, the Corfu-born talent—a holding midfielder by trade, has performed very well for Olympiacos across 16 games. Both players see their contracts at the Georgios Karaiskakis Football Stadium expire on June 2026.

The duo are already playing regularly for Olympiakos despite being just 17 and that has caught the attention of Tottenham and other clubs such as Arsenal, Manchester United, Manchester City, Newcastle United and Liverpool.

Spurs could do well to snap up both Kostoulas and Mouzakitis if possible, as it represents the kind of signings the club has been making in recent transfer windows. The Lilywhites have done well to create a pool of young talents with huge potential, and the acquisition of the Greek teenager would further bolster that group under Ange Postecoglou.

It will be interesting to see whether the Hotspur Way chiefs approach Olympiacos over the duo, but it seems clear that both Kostoulas and Mouzakitis have big futures in the game and they will certainly continue to develop and be of interest to Europe’s elite clubs.
