“He is above the level of Under-21 football…” – Club insider asks academy prospect to pursue January exit

Tottenham Hotspur starlet Tyrese Hall has been encouraged to pursue a move away from White Hart Lane to pursue further developments and gain some valuable first-team experience. While being a key figure in the Premier League 2 setup at Hotspur Way, the youngster is yet to make a first-team appearance for the Lilywhites this season, which, on a current note, looks highly unlikely.

The 19-year-old has started all of the Premier League 2 games, but he would definitely be unhappy about not getting a first-team bow yet, given how his teammates from the academy are enjoying a look-in here and there for Ange Postecoglou’s side.

Spurs have ample talent at their disposal in the academy, with Hall’s teammate Alfie Dorrington getting his Premier League senior debut in the North Londoners 5-0 win over Southampton at the weekend, in a match that saw Heung Min Son break a club record.

Loan move makes sense for Hall

Hall was heavily involved in the Lilywhites preseason fixtures, which foretold a possible breakthrough season for the 19-year-old, but opportunities to feature for the first team haven’t materialised just yet, and while the injury woes at White Hart Lane have opened the door for several young players to step up and being called up on the Spurs bench, however, Australian head coach Ange Postecoglou has preferred 17-year-old prospect Callum Olusesi over Hall.

Looking at the situation, John Wenham, owner of the Lilywhites Rose podcast, has urged the starlet to move away on loan in the winter window. Speaking in an exclusive interview with Tottenham News, he said:

“It is a strange situation because Hall featured heavily during pre-season. However, we’ve not seen him at all since then, and I’m not sure why that is. It is an unusual situation, and I think the best thing for Hall is to head out on loan in January.

“He is above the level of Under-21 football, in my opinion, and should be out playing senior men’s football and gaining valuable experience. Therefore, hopefully, the club are doing everything in their power to facilitate that and get a good move for the midfielder.”

For Hall (if he were to move on loan), the focus will be on finding a club where he can play regularly and continue his progress towards becoming a first-team player at N17.
