Tottenham Hotspur are incurring a difficult period on the injury side of things with multiple first-teamers serving the treatment room, especially in the defensive chamber of Ange Postecoglou’s roster, and Dutch centre-back Micky van de Ven has been among the recurring presence owing to hamstring issues that forced him off in the game against Chelsea.
The Australian head coach did insist that the injury to the former Wolfsburg ace wasn’t serious, Van de Ven has now missed a couple of games (Rangers and Southampton), and according to The Standard, while the Lilywhites will continue to monitor his condition, his availability to face Manchester United tomorrow in the League Cup quarter-final remains highly uncertain, which will come as a major blow to the North Londoners, given the 23-year-old’s importance to Spurs backline.
Micky has had a few injury problems this season, with the Dutchman missing out on 13 games with three separate injuries, which at some point have been a recurrence since he moved to White Hart Lane.
No Micky & a depilated squad vs United

Tottenham are set to face a United side that is finding their form under new manager Ruben Amorim, and the Australian head coach faces a stern test owing to injury woes at N17. Micky’s partner at the heart of defence, Cristian Romero, remains sidelined while first-choice goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario is still recovering from ankle surgery. Back-up at the back, Ben Davies adds to the defensive woes, while Destiny Udogie was also subbed off in the Lilywhites 5-0 win over Southampton. Coming forward, Richarlison and Wilson Odobert are serving the sidelines for the long term.
