Tottenham Hotspur centre forward Richarlison has been subject to links with a move away from White Hart Lane.
The Brazil international has been a frustrating figure at Hotspur Way given his regular injury problems that have haunted him through his time at N17. To put it into perspective, the £60m forward has only featured for 88 minutes in the ongoing 2024/25 campaign owing to his consistent presence in the treatment room.
Moreover, when fit, the former Watford star has not been able to find goals. In his time in North London, Richy has only scored 16 goals since moving to White Hart Lane.
Brazilian clubs knocking on Richarlison door?
Taking advantage of his situation with the Premier League heavyweights, Brazilian giants Fluminense have reportedly made contact with Tottenham regarding a move to White Hart Lane.
Richy is not a stranger to Fluminense, as he enjoyed an 18-month spell with them before he eventually moved to Watford in August 2017. However, they will face competition from Flamengo for his signature, per UOL.
Flamengo are willing to offer €20m for the Brazil international, which is half of the €40m demand that Daniel Levy has placed on Richarlison’s head.
For Tottenham, any move for Richarlison would free up funds as well as the wage bill to bring in a more potent and reliable striker that fits Postecoglou’s playing style, and although selling the Brazilian will feel like an admission of failure for a marquee signing (given how much Spurs spent on him), right now Tottenham has to prioritise the team’s long-term needs and address the depth problems in attack.
