Tottenham star Richarlison has been sidelined with a hamstring injury since November
Tottenham Hotspur have been hit with so many injury problems since the start of the season, hampering the team’s progress under Ange Postecoglou.
When everyone’s fit and firing, Spurs are a fantastic team and capable of beating anyone on their team. However, Ange Postecoglou’s side have struggled for stability due to the unavailability of several key players over the last couple of months.
The Greek-Aussie tactician had as many as 10 first-team players unavailable for the trip to Southampton on Sunday. He has had to constantly chop and change his XI almost in every game due to injury problems. The defensive options have been depleted owing to injuries to Micky van de Ven, Cristian Romero and Ben Davies.

However, they aren’t the only ones who have spent time on the treatment table. Tottenham forward Richarlison has endured another frustrating season in North London. He has barely played this term, clocking only 173 minutes across seven games thus far.
The South American has been sidelined since November due to a hamstring injury sustained during a comprehensive 4-1 home victory over Aston Villa. Having previously missed the first nine matches of the season with a groin issue, the 27-year-old’s return was short-lived, as he lasted less only minutes against Villa before suffering his latest setback.
Fast forward six weeks, and there could be some good news with regards to Richarlison. The Brazil international took to his official Instagram account on Wednesday night to confirm that he is on the brink of returning to full fitness. In a post on Instagram, he wrote: “Almost there,” accompanied by an hourglass and raising hands emoji, signifying his enthusiasm to return.

In his latest press conference, Ange Postecoglou confirmed that Richarlison has been pencilled in to return at the start of the New Year. This means the forward will not feature in 2024 anymore, and as a result, he will miss the games against Manchester United, Liverpool, Nottingham Forest and Wolverhampton Wanderers. He will be touch-and-go for Spurs’ first game of 2025 against Newcastle United at home.
