Tottenham Hotspur wide forward cum attacking midfielder Dejan Kulusevski has been playing at his very best in the ongoing 2024/25 campaign, with the Swede being an almost undroppable figure in the Lilywhites roster at the moment.
Kulusevski had been moved into the attacking midfield role this summer by Ange Postecoglou as the Australian head coach looks to make the best use of his ability to operate in tight spaces and find pockets in the middle of the park. It has worked fairly well given how the 24-year-old has been preferred to start over James Maddison.
Darke speaks highly of Kulusevski
The former Juventus man has already scored 6 goals in all competitions in the ongoing campaign alongside another 7 assists to accompany those goals. And ESPN commentator Ian Darke has spoken about how important the 24-year-old has been for the North Londoners. He went on to cite Spurs’ Europa League game against Rangers as an example of how vital the attacker has become for Tottenham.
Speaking in an exclusive interview with Tottenham News, Darke said:
“Kulusevski has been a bright spark, scoring in his last four as well. They’ve also been able to use him in a variety of positions. He turns up and looks like he’ll cause teams problems. The goal at Rangers, for example, was very well taken at a difficult place to go, and Tottenham needed that.”
From a Tottenham supporter viewpoint, it’s thrilling to watch Kulusevski thriving of late, and the fact that Ange has been using him across the middle has not only highlighted the Swede’s versatility, but it has also brought a bit of unpredictability to the attack given how he runs with the ball at his feet.
