Tottenham Hotspur has been looking to bring in a new fullback on the left flank given the lack of depth in the position, complemented by their overdependence on Destiny Udogie, and the Lilywhites have been linked with a potential move for Lecce sensation Patrick Dorgu.
The North Londoners were linked with a move for the Denmark international in the previous summer window, albeit no transfer materialised, and they are now in a tug-of-war with multiple Premier League sides for his signature, with a “huge” race being expected to attain the left back.
Dorgu in a bargain deal?
Manchester United have been fortifying interest to land the £10,000-a-week ace, with Ruben Amorim keen to bring in reinforcements in the position given the injury situation of Luke Shaw and Malacia.
The potential suitors have received a boost in their bid to secure the 20-year-old’s signature, as the latest report by GIVEMESPORT states that his current employers would ‘find it hard to turn down’ a potential £30m bid for Dorgu.
For the Lilywhites, any move that brings Dorgu to White Hart Lane will not only strengthen the roster at Ange Postecoglou’s disposal but also add some depth, which will be a clear signal of intent from Daniel Levy & Co. as the North Londoners look to reclaim their place among the Premier League’s elites.
We have seen glimpses of potential from Ange Postecoglou’s side over the past months, and adding quality depth will take this side closer to having the capacity to accomplish their objectives going forward.
