Tottenham identify €50m Serie A playmaker who could replace James Maddison

published :

Tottenham Hotspur have been looking to bring in an attacking midfielder in the upcoming 2025 transfer interval as the North Londoners look to bring in more competition and depth in the position given James Maddison’s struggles in the ongoing campaign, and the Lilywhites have been linked with a move for 23-year-old Belgian playmaker Charles De Ketelaere.

Ange Postecoglou has been playing Swede wide forward Dejan Kulusevski in the attacking midfield role over the former Leicester City star for the majority of the campaign, with Kulusevski being potent with his quality on the ball and ability to operate in tight spaces that has reaped multiple goals in the ongoing 2024/25 campaign.

However, the Australian head coach is looking to bring in a new player that can bring in more creative output from the middle of the park while having a knack for scoring goals, and that is where the Lilywhites interest in Charles De Ketelaere comes into the picture. He has been enjoying an excellent campaign so far this season, contributing to 19 goals (10 goals and 9 assists) in 24 appearances across all competitions.

That being said, Spurs aren’t the only club looking at a move for the 23-year-old, with city neighbours and archrivals Arsenal also gunning for a move for the Atalanta ace, per Italian outlet Milan Live.

Although either side will have to fork out at least €50m to secure his signature, we will need to see if the Gunners or the Lilywhites are willing to flex their financial muscles to secure his services in 2025.
