Arsenal lead race to sign 25GA full back amid Tottenham links

published :

Tottenham Hotspur are in dire need of depth in the left-back role, with the North Londoners highly dependent on Destiny Udogie in the position, and the qualitative marginal difference is high when anyone is deployed in the defensive left flank role, and it seems Daniel Levy seems to have taken note of it as the Lilywhites look at signing Maxim De Cuyper, per Caught Off Side.

The North Londoners have been pondering a move for the Club Brugge fullback as they look to bring in a creative outlet in the side who is also equally effective defensively, and Spurs are one of the growing clubs following the 24-year-old for a possible move in the 2025 transfer intervals.

De Cuyper has been playing some impressive football for his current employers, where he has a record of six (6) goals and 19 assists in nearly a century of appearances for the Belgian side. Andy, his impressive performances have attracted interest from the likes of Manchester City, Arsenal, and Chelsea, alongside Tottenham.

For the North Londoners, there is a possibility that Ben Davies departs White Hart Lane as a free agent at the end of the ongoing campaign, and the Lilywhites could look at the Belgian as a replacement for the veteran.

For now, Arsenal lead the race for his signature, given they are actively looking to replace Zinchenko (who is expected to leave N5 at the end of the season), and they are ready to make De Cuyper an understudy to Riccardo Calafiori.

It is to be seen how Daniel Levy and Tottenham approach signing the Belgian in the upcoming transfer windows.
