Juventus midfielder Nicolo Fagioli has been on the radar of Tottenham
Tottenham Hotspur have had a difficult first half of the 2024/25 season, and their faltering performances have seen Ange Postecoglou come under huge pressure.
The last couple of months have been a huge test for Ange Postecoglou’s side as they have struggled to compete in the Premier League and the Europa League with what feels like a never-ending injury list. The Lilywhites’ defence and attacking unit have been severely hit with injuries, forcing Ange Postecoglou to constantly chop and change things. This has directly impacted his team’s performances on the pitch.
While the North Londoners did enjoy a decent summer transfer window, a rebuild is the need of the hour. Sky Sports reporter Dharmesh Sheth recently revealed that Tottenham will be active in the winter transfer window, likely targeting young talent over established players.

Spurs have been linked with several players in recent weeks and months. One of them has been Juventus midfielder Nicolo Fagioli. According to a report from CaughtOffside, Tottenham are leading the race for Nicolo Fagioli, who is also on the radar of Fulham, West Ham United and Crystal Palace.
The Italian midfielder has not enjoyed regular opportunities to express himself under new Juventus boss Thiago Motta this season. Of 14 Serie A games, the 23-year-old has started just five and wants to embark on a fresh challenge to get his career back on track.
Juventus are already understood to be ready to sell Fagioli for €25m during the winter window amid interest from several Premier League outfits. No official offer for the midfielder has been tabled yet. The aforementioned report adds Spurs boss Ange Postecoglou has Fagioli on his transfer list.

Fagioli is a versatile midfielder who would add much-needed quality depth to Big Ange’s Tottenham squad. Hard-working, tenacious and creative with strong technical ability on the ball, the seven-cap Italy international should be a good fit in Big Ange’s high-intensity and pressing system at White Hart Lane. And for a reported fee of €25m, Spurs would find it difficult to get a better signing for that value in January.

That being said, however, Big Ange has been sceptical in giving the green signal for Spurs to move ahead with a deal for Fagioli. With the midfield unit being well-stocked now with the return of Rodrigo Bentancur from a lengthy suspension, the Australian tactician perhaps wants to use the limited funds towards bolstering his squad’s defence and offensive department.
