Tottenham have suffered a big blow as Destiny Udogie could be ruled out until mid-March
Tottenham Hotspur boss Ange Postecoglou has dealt with a lot of injury problems at White Hart Lane this season. He has had to chop and change personnel almost in every game for the last two months owing to injuries.
Archie Gray has been forced to fill in at centre-back due to the injury absences of Cristian Romero, Micky van de Ven and Ben Davies. Davies returned to training last week and Ange Postecoglou hoped he would be able to return against Wolves. However, the Welshman suffered a setback in his recovery from a hamstring injury in training, ruling him out for at least the next two weeks.
The Lilywhites’ defensive crisis worsened during the 2-2 draw with Wolves on Sunday as Destiny Udogie suffered a hamstring injury. The left-back was forced off in the first half against Wolves clutching his hamstring before being replaced by Sergio Reguilon.

The Italy international is now set for a lengthy spell on the sidelines. He will have no hope of returning any time soon with club insider Paul O Keefe revealing on X that the defender is set to be out for six to ten weeks.
After undergoing scans, Destiny Udogie could be out until mid-March in what is a big blow for Ange Postecoglou. With the initial fear of the 22-year-old coming at a possible absence of six weeks, the latest update of him being out for an extra month of top is extremely frustrating for the player as well as the head coach.
Udogie’s latest injury update could disrupt Tottenham’s January transfer plans, too, with Sergio Reguilon, who replaced the Italian in the first half against Wolves the previous weekend, potentially seeing his proposed move to Brentford now on the risk of being off. Davies also remains out, meaning the Australian tactician has the out-of-favour Reguilon as the only left-back option.

Djed Spence will now be turned to as a replacement for Udogie, who could miss as many as 10 games if ruled out until mid-March. If the flying full-back does return in six weeks’ time, he may feature against Hoffenheim in the Europa League or Leicester City in the Premier League in February.

There are obviously mitigating factors to the North London side’s dismal form, with injury primely being one of those. However, Spurs’ results simply must improve in 2025, starting against an in-form Newcastle United at the weekend.
