Celtic star Nicolas Kuhn has attracted interest from Tottenham
Tottenham Hotspur are in the January transfer market for reinforcements after a tough first half of the 2024/25 season.
The North London side spent big in the summer, with Dominic Solanke becoming the club’s most expensive acquisition of all-time when he completed a £65million switch from Premier League rivals Bournemouth. Young talents such as Lucas Bergvall, Archie Gray and Wilson Odobert also arrived in the summer, while Yang Min-hyeok officially became a Spurs player at the start of 2025.
But Ange Postecoglou has been forced to contend with an injury crisis which deteriorated thanks to Destiny Udogie suffering a hamstring injury in the 2-2 draw with Wolves last Sunday. The left-back is now set to be sidelined for around six to ten weeks.

As far as the attacking department is concerned, Richarlison, Mikey Moore and Wilson Odobert have spent months on the sidelines with respective issues. Timo Werner has barely impressed while Son Heung-min’s powers are evidently diminishing. Reputed journalist Fabrizio Romano claims the Lilywhites are considering adding at least one attacker to Ange Postecoglou’s squad this month.
Celtic star Nicolas Kuhn has been subject to recent links with a move to Tottenham. The winger has been a key member of Celtic this season, scoring 14 goals and assisting a further 11 in 26 games across all competitions, following a difficult start to life in Scotland with his new club after his move from Rapid Vienna in January 2024.
The German’s form has piqued the interest of several clubs across Europe including Spurs. The Hoops are hoping to fend off interest from European outfits by offering Nicolas Kuhn a new and improved deal. Thus, ex-Spurs scout Bryan King thinks the 25-year-old has no reason to leave Celtic midway through the season and join Big Ange’s Spurs.
“Kuhn is playing Champions League football in Scotland,” Bryan King exclusively told Tottenham News.
“I would have thought he is very happy. Scoring goals, playing in Europe, top of the table. He will certainly win things with Celtic this season and has already won one trophy. Therefore, why would he want to leave? I can’t see that deal happening.
“From Spurs’ point of view, they’d probably be better off looking elsewhere.”
Justly, it looks difficult to see why Kuhn would leave Celtic in the middle of the season and join Spurs. The attacker is competing at the elite level—in the Champions League—and has already won a trophy. The German has the opportunity to win more honours at Parkhead if he stays put.

The Bhoys signed Kuhn for just £3 million from Rapid Vienna a year ago and are in a healthy position to nearly triple their money for him should they decide to cash in. Spurs are expected to have a tight January budget but should have enough in their kitty to sign the Celtic ace. However, it will all come down to whether or not the player wants the move to the Premier League now.
