Tottenham Hotspur have a Richarlison dilemma in the ongoing winter transfer window as the chiefs at White Hart Lane continue to get frustrated over his availability and output as the rumours in the paper continue to link the Brazilian to a move away from N17. However, in contrast to the reports of late, Sky Sports suggested that the former Everton star wouldn’t be leaving the North Londoners in the January transfer window, with the club planning not to let the 27-year-old leave.
There have been a section of Lilywhites supporters wanting the center-forward to be sold given his constant injury problems and lack of output, and the aforementioned update from one of England’s most reliable news media would come as a cause of concern for the fans at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
Wenham speaks on Richarlison exit
However, despite the news of Richy continuing at N17, John Wenham, owner of the reputed Spurs podcast Lilywhites Rose, believes that the 27-year-old would be made available for a possible exit if the price is right. Speaking in an exclusive interview with Tottenham News, the podcast host said:
“I cannot understand why the club wouldn’t want to let him go. He doesn’t play, doesn’t contribute, and takes home £150,000 per week. Therefore, I find these reports that he isn’t available for transfer unbelievable.
“I don’t see how he could possibly be unavailable for transfer when he has been a complete disaster of a signing. Of course, he would be available; the money would just have to be right.”
Amid the reports from Sky Sports, if the club can find a suitable suitor that can meet the club’s valuation (much like what Wenham suggests), it could pave the way for a much-needed reshuffle upfront, as a possible successful sale can create room in Ange Postecoglou’s roster for Daniel Levy to push to bring in a more reliable option to support Dominic Solanke upfront.
