Tottenham Hotspur completed the first signing of their winter transfer window as they welcomed Antonin Kinsky at White Hart Lane.
The North Londoners have been in the market for a new goalkeeper as they look to revamp the keeping union given the injury to Guglielmo Vicario following his long-term injury that forced an ankle surgery. Head coach Ange Postecoglou has been playing a 36-year-old Fraser Forster, who has been doing decently in the middle of the posts; however, the fact that the Australian had to start third-choice keeper Brandon Austin against Newcastle United at the weekend shows the need for a long-term keeper who can take up the reins at N17.
The Lilywhites faithful will hope that the arrival of the 21-year-old will come as a significant addition to the roster at Hotspur Way as the North Londoners look to bring some quality and depth to the goalkeeping department with an eye for years to come. Kinský is a promising talent, and with age on his side, he has the potential to grow into the number-one role at N17, providing competition and support for Vicario once he returns to full fitness.
Levy beat PL trio to sign Kinsky
That being said, it was not an easy road to secure his signatures. Daniel Levy had to beat competition from Premier League trio Newcastle United, Brighton, and Brentford to sign him, alongside interest from Postecoglou’s former side, Celtic, as well, per Graeme Bailey on TBR Football.
With his signatures secured, there is a possibility that the North Londoners supporters will get a first glimpse of Kinsky donning the Lilywhites badge in the Spurs fixture against Liverpool in the midweek.
