“Tottenham were quoted £100 million…” – Club insider backs Spurs to sign highly rated striker amid Arsenal & Man United links

Tottenham Hotspur have been looking to bring in another striker in the recently commenced summer transfer window as the North Londoners look to have a reputed deputy to Dominic Solanke at White Hart Lane, and the Lilywhites have been subject to intensive links with a move for Brighton striker Evan Ferguson before the conclusion of this month.

Spurs have been in the market for a new striker for a second successive window given the availability and consistency concerns with Richarlison, and they are looking to bring in a striker beaming with potential in Ferguson.

However, the Lilywhites aren’t alone in his pursuit. Premier League side Fulham could be looking to pursue a loan transfer for the Republic of Ireland international, alongside the likes of Everton, Manchester United, and Arsenal keeping an eye on the 20-year-old’s situation.

And John Wenham, owner of the reputed Spurs podcast Lilywhites Rose, is hopeful of a potential deal being agreed to bring the highly rated striker to White Hart Lane. Speaking in an exclusive interview with Tottenham News, the podcast host said:

“This is a player who would improve us. People are sleeping on Ferguson; I think he just needs a change of club. For whatever reason, it isn’t working at Brighton. However, he is still an unbelievable player.

“It was only 18 months ago that Tottenham were quoted £100 million for Ferguson after Harry Kane left the club. Therefore, I hope that we can be the ones to sign him, and if there is an option to buy included and he does well, it would be a no-brainer.”

With links to Evan Ferguson, there have been reports of a potential exit for Will Lankshear should the Brighton man arrive at N17, which makes it a bit tricky for Tottenham supporters to deal with given how Lankshear has come through the academy and has shown immense potential in the minutes he has featured for the first team.
