Tottenham are eyeing a versatile forward after signing goalkeeper Antonin Kinsky

Tottenham Hotspur have opened their January transfer window account by signing highly-rated goalkeeper Antonin Kinsky from Slavia Prague.

The Lilywhites now need to move on to other targets, as Ange Postecoglou looks to get the season back on track after a woeful first half. A 2-1 home defeat to Newcastle United last weekend saw his team drop to 12th in the Premier League table.

The Australian tactician has a lot of issues to address in both defence and attack after bolstering the goalkeeping department. Highly regarded journalist David Ornstein has given an update on Spurs’ plans for the rest of the winter transfer window, looking to back the boss.

Now, club insider Paul O Keefe has specifically revealed that Ange Postecoglou has asked the board for a versatile forward. Tottenham already have a specialist No.9 in Dominic Solanke and two versatile forwards in Son Heung-min and Richarlison, but given the former’s declining powers and the latter’s injury history, he wants to add another forward who can play anywhere across the front line.

Replying to a fan’s question on Spurs’ links with Paris Saint-Germain’s Randal Kolo Muani and Big Ange wanting a versatile forward, Paul O Keefe wrote on X: “He wants a versatile forward”.

Randal Kolo Muani moved to Paris Saint-Germain after he shone for Eintracht Frankfurt during the 2022/23 campaign, scoring 23 goals in his 46 appearances. His move to PSG has not gone to plan though, with the France international scoring just 11 goals in his 54 outings. But his lack of productivity and sporadic appearances this term hasn’t put off big clubs looking to sign him in January.

David Ornstein confirmed on Monday that Tottenham are exploring a loan deal for Kolo Muani. Manchester United and Juventus are also interested in the player. Spurs’ interest in Kolo Muani aligns well with O Keefe’s revelation of Big Ange asking the board to sign a versatile forward, as the Frenchman can operate anywhere across the front three.

The 26-year-old may not have pulled up trees at PSG but he is a good player who can add a lot of value to this Spurs side. The ex-Frankfurt star can provide cover and competition for the likes of Solanke and Son whilst getting a lot of minutes under Big Ange with Tottenham having to cover a lot of games in the second half of the season. And on a straight loan, there would not be any risk attached to a deal.

That being said, the North Londoners must not hesitate to get a loan deal for Kolo Muani over the line.
