Club Insider provides a positive update on three Tottenham players

Tottenham Hotspur must quickly dust themselves down from the 2-1 defeat to Newcastle United and prepare for the Carabao Cup two-legged semi-final against Liverpool.

Following the loss at home to Newcastle, Spurs have now won just once in their last eight Premier League games. It is shocking and not good enough from Ange Postecoglou’s side but they must now shift their focus towards the Carabao Cup. The first leg of the semi-final is scheduled to happen on Wednesday evening at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, with preparations for the game already in full flow.

Ange Postecoglou was missing 10 senior players due to injury, illness or suspension against Eddie Howe’s Newcastle last weekend. The Greek-Aussie tactician has been handed a big boost ahead of the cup tie with the Reds, with three previously unavailable players having trained on Monday.

Tottenham youngster Mikey Moore trained with the first team on Monday

Club insider Paul O Keefe has revealed that Postecoglou will have some new players to call upon for Wednesday’s clash. On his X account, he claims that Richarlison and Mikey Moore took part in full first-team training on Monday. The latest recruit from Slavia Prague, goalkeeper Antonin Kinsky also enjoyed his first full training with his new teammates.

Big Ange had given an update on both Richarlison and Mikey Moore before the Newcastle game, stating the attackers would start training this week. Richarlison has endured another injury-hit campaign in North London, spending months on the sidelines with hamstring issues. This has limited him to only Premier League appearances.

As for Moore, the youngster has shown his potential in glimpses while breaking into the first-team Spurs squad this season. Although just 17 years old, the winger has appeared eight times so far this term. However, it has been a tough couple of months for the teenager, who has been hit with a bad virus and missed 14 games in total in the process.

Meanwhile, Antonin Kinsky received his work permit on Monday and is now available to face Liverpool. The young shot-stopper is potentially in line to start for Tottenham should Fraser Forster not recover from the bug he contracted last week. It will be interesting to see whether Big Ange decides to throw the Prague-born talent at the deep end in midweek or stick with Brandon Austin, who was solid on his Spurs debut against Newcastle.

More Tottenham News

Tottenham still remain severely under-strength at the moment, especially in defence, with Micky van de Ven, Cristian Romero, Destiny Udogie and Ben Davies all out. Big Ange has to make do with the resources he has and set up his team tactfully, avoiding the mistakes he made in Spurs’ 6-3 home defeat to Liverpool in the Premier League only a couple of weeks ago.
