Aston Villa only want loan for Tottenham midfield target labelled ‘disaster’ at current club

published :

Tottenham Hotspur has been looking to bring in a new midfielder in the ongoing winter transfer window, and the North Londoners are looking to potentially bring Brazilian midfielder Douglas Luiz back to England.

There is a dire need for Daniel Levy to sign a new midfielder in the January window, with the Lilywhites having a certain lack of depth in the position given their failure to replace Giovani Lo Celso and Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg following the duo’s departure in the previous summer.

Now they are looking to sign Douglas Luiz, who has been struggling to find his feet in the Italian top tier and is looking for a way out after being branded “disaster” at Juventus.

However, the Premiership regulars would know the quality that the player possesses following his antics at Villa Park and the fact that he has been a nightmare to deal with for the majority of the elite sides in the league. And adding him would definitely take Ange Postecoglou’s midfield a long way.

That being said, it would not be easy for Tottenham to get their hands on the 26-year-old, with his former employers Aston Villa also vying for a move for his signature, per reputed correspondent at TBR Football, Graeme Bailey.

The report states that Unai Emery’s side is open to bringing back the Brazilian on a loan transfer.

Juventus, on the other hand, wouldn’t mind loaning out the 26-year-old, albeit with an obligation to a permanent transfer.
