Tottenham sensation sets 17-year-old Tottenham record after performance vs Liverpool

Lucas Bergvall enjoyed an impressive outing for Tottenham Hotspur as the North Londoners beat Liverpool 1-0 in the Carabao Cup semi-final first leg this midweek, with the Swedish sensation not only scoring the decisive goal in the game but also showing glimpses of his potential to the Lilywhites faithful.

With the game hanging in the balance at 86 minutes, the teenager produced a moment of brilliance with a perfectly timed run from midfield, which allowed him to latch onto Dominic Solanke’s layoff, and without hesitation, the Tottenham number 15 rifled the ball past Alisson Becker, and this goal was enough to not only settle the first leg but also announce Bergvall’s highly anticipated arrival on the big stage.

And he also finds himself in the history books at White Hart Lane with the Swede’s strike against the Merseysiders, making him Tottenham’s youngest Carabao Cup scorer since Bale’s goal in 2007, which fuels further excitement among the supporters around his potential.

Bergvall was more then one moment wonder vs Liverpool

Well, you also have to credit the brilliant play from Solanke that helped unlock the door of Liverpool’s defence, but one thing that sticks around after the performance about Bergvall is the all-around contribution he gave to the Lilywhites. He was far from a one-moment wonder; he totally controlled the midfield against a Liverpool trio of Ryan Gravenberch, Alexis Mac Allister, and Curtis Jones. For 90 minutes, he created three chances, completed 22 of 26 passes, delivered three passes into the final third, and won two out of three tackles.
