Expert believes one Tottenham youngster could play against Tamworth

Tottenham have had a mixed start to the year, losing a winnable game against Newcastle but bouncing back with a victory over the current best team in the world, Liverpool. With the transfer window open and a busy period ahead, Lilywhite Rose owner John Wenham, in an exclusive interview with Tottenham News, has suggested that the 18-year-old could make play against Tamworth.

Ange Postecoglou has the chance to give several fringe players valuable minutes when Tottenham face Tamworth on Sunday. Spurs will head to the Lamb Ground for the FA Cup third-round clash on 12 January, with Postecoglou likely to make significant changes to the lineup. Yang featured in a Spurs squad for the first time on Wednesday, 8 January, as Postecoglou’s side earned a 1-0 win over Liverpool at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

The South Korean set to make his anticipated debut as per Wenham

The young Korean talent, who was named the K League Young Player of the Year, has already caught the eye of fans and pundits during his time at Gangwon FC, where he tallied an impressive 18 goal contributions in 38 games. Spurs supporters will undoubtedly be eager to see Yang in action.

The upcoming match against Tamworth, expected to be a straightforward affair, provides the ideal opportunity for Yang to make his debut in a low-pressure setting. Mikey Moore and Yang were both part of the squad against Liverpool, and it’s anticipated that Yang will feature as a substitute in this game. While Brennan Johnson is likely to start as he needs match fitness, Yang is expected to come off the bench, adding depth and options to the squad. Tottenham also hopes to have Richarlison available for selection soon after this fixture.

Lilywhite Rose owner John Wenham – speaking exclusively to Tottenham News, made his speculation

“Mikey Moore and Yang were both involved against Liverpool.”

“Personally, I think Yang will come on as a substitute against Tamworth. I don’t think he will start, as I think Brennan Johnson needs the minutes. However, I do think Yang will come on.”

“That gives us more options in the squad, and then hopefully we will have Richarlison available for selection again not too long after.”

As a result, the Australian manager is unlikely to take unnecessary risks and may only introduce the 18-year-old for his English football debut if Spurs have already established a comfortable lead, which many anticipate will be the case.
