Tottenham youngster Alfie Dorrington has signed for Scottish side Aberdeen on loan
The January transfer window is in full swing and Tottenham Hotspur are trying to utilize it to strengthen their squad after a poor first half of the season.
The Lilywhites have already signed goalkeeper Antonin Kinsky, and the new recruit from Slavia Prague has played two games. In addition, Ange Postecoglou is trying to reinforce the defence and attack for the second half of the campaign.
While new signings are the need of the hour, Ange Postecoglou and Daniel Levy are also responsible for trying to help the academy kids and young talents at the club secure suitable loan moves. Last week, the Spurs boss made it clear that the club plans to send academy talent Alfie Dorrington out on loan for the remainder of the campaign.

And now according to the club’s official website, Alfie Dorrington has signed a new contract until 2029 and will spend the rest of the season on loan at Scottish side Aberdeen. The towering centre-back has secured a loan move to Aberdeen just 24 hours after being on the bench for Spurs against Tamworth in the FA Cup third round on Sunday.
Dorrington joined Tottenham’s famed academy when he was 13 after spending time in the youth-team set-up of non-League side Cockfosters. The teenager made his Premier League debut for Spurs as a substitute in last month’s 5-0 Premier League victory over Southampton.
Spurs are struggling with an injury crisis at the moment, with senior centre-backs Micky van de Ven, Cristian Romero and Ben Davies unavailable. Archie Gray, who is a central midfielder by trade, and Radu Dragusin have started together at centre-back in the last nine games in all competitions.

It means Dorrington has not been given opportunities by Big Ange and, with Romero and Van de Ven returning to full fitness later this month, Spurs have done the right thing to send the England under-19 international out on loan. The North London club feel the loan move to Aberdeen will help their academy kid get regular game time and gain some valuable experience in men’s football, whilst aiding his development.
