As reported by TBR Football, Tottenham Hotspur are part of the Premier League group of clubs monitoring the Greek teenage sensation, Stefanos Tzimas.

The 19-year-old PAOK forward, currently on loan at Nürnberg, has been attracting interest with his performances in the German second tier.

The Greece U21 international currently sits at eight goals and two assists from 15 appearances across all competitions.

Nürnberg, currently managed by Germany legend Miroslav Klose, have in place an option to buy Tzimas for €18 million. They are reportedly interested in cashing in on him right away, with a £25m price tag being mooted.

Along with Spurs, the other Premier League clubs interested in landing Tzimas include Newcastle, Manchester United, Chelsea, Nottingham Forest, Liverpool, and Brighton

TTLB Opinion

There is no doubt that Tzimas is a promising prospect. The fact that Nürnberg are interested in cashing on him even before they have made the move permanent should be a bit of a red flag, but then one also has to keep in mind that they may be in dire need of strengthening their squad, especially as they are currently languishing in the bottom half of 2. Bundesliga, just eight points from the drop zone.

With Dominic Solanke thriving, and Spurs also linked with another late-bloomer in Josh Maja, we do not see an imminent place in the starting XI for Tzimas at Tottenham, though one has to keep in mind that the club under technical director Johan Lange’s stewardship have been rather exemplary in landing exciting young prospects, often beating their direct rivals that are doing better than them.
