Tottenham Hotspur are looking to bring in a new forward in the ongoing 2025 winter transfer window, and they have been subject to links with one of the Premier League’s stars, Marcus Rashford. However, the Lilywhites’ hopes of securing the England international this January appear to be fading as German giants Borussia Dortmund intensify efforts to bring the United academy graduate to the Bundesliga.
BVB calling?

According to Sky Sports journalist Florian Plettenberg via X, Dortmund are looking to secure Rashford on a loan transfer following their recent struggles, and they look at him as an ideal replacement for Donyell Malen, who, while he was once linked to Tottenham, is close to joining Aston Villa. Serie A giants AC Milan are also interested in signing Rashford, adding further complications to Tottenham’s pursuit.
The 27-year-old England international has struggled for regular playing time this season, more so since Ruben Amorim took over from Erik ten Hag. His limited appearances at Old Trafford have made him a target for clubs across Europe, including Tottenham, who are exploring the possibility of a winter move.
Looks like no Rashford at White Hart Lane
Ange Postecoglou & Co. have been enduring a difficult spell in the transfer window of late with Rashford’s likely move outside the English top tier; the club’s seeming primary target (for this window), Randal Kolo Muani, is reportedly on the verge of joining Juventus from Paris Saint-Germain.
And it looks like Levy will have to adjust his transfer priorities once again given Rashford’s imminent move to Dortmund could provide him with a much-needed fresh start, and now the focus on finding alternative solutions starts again at N17.
