Tottenham suffered an embarassing 3-2 defeat to Everton on Sunday
Tottenham Hotspur travelled to Goodison Park on Sunday and lost the Premier League game 3-2 against Everton, despite scoring two late goals.
Under pressure Ange Postecoglou changed to a back three system on the day with Ben Davies returning from injury and walking straight into the starting XI; however, that move did not work out at all. Everton hammered Spurs in the opening 45 minutes and could have scored more in the game, before Dejan Kulusevski and Richarlison netted late on to give them a glimmer of hope.
The result left the Lilywhites 15th in the Premier League table and eight points clear of the relegation zone. They are now only four points clear of 16th-placed Everton, which has put gaffer Ange Postecoglou under massive pressure at White Hart Lane.

To put things straight, Tottenham were shocking in the defeat to Everton. That performance was on par with a lot of their showings this season. The North Londoners are still facing an injury crisis, but that does not excuse being in 15th place in the table and losing 12 league games out of 22.
Jamie O’Hara shared his thoughts on his former team’s performance at Goodison Park on X, slamming their defending. He also labelled Tottenham’s display as “absolute embarrassing” and “one of the worst” he’s seen in a long time.
“On Sky Sports and my heads going watching Spurs what is that defending.” O’Hara wrote on his X account.
“I’m sorry this can’t continue regardless of injuries this is absolutely embarrassing, all over the place defensively, shocking in midfield, this is one the worst performances I’ve seen in a long time, if we’re not careful we could get dragged into a relegation battle. Sacked??”

Tottenham have faced difficulty this season, especially with injuries which has prevented Postecoglou from taking the team forward. The Hotspur Way chiefs have only managed to sign goalkeeper Antonin Kinsky in this transfer window, which is not enough for a team stretched due to injuries and royally struggling at this moment. The squad needs refreshing before the transfer window slams shut.

If Big Ange was already under pressure, the defeat to relegation-threatened Everton has increased it manifold. It is difficult to see how the 59-year-old will be able to hang onto his job at N17, especially after the embarrassing defeat and performance on Sunday.
If the Greek-Aussie tactician somehow manages to keep his role, he should better have a fantastic idea on how to turn the fortunes around quickly starting from the midweek Europa League game against Hoffenheim.
