Ipswich Town striker Liam Delap is on the radar of Tottenham
Tottenham Hotspur have yet to sign any outfield players in January after securing goalkeeper Antonin Kinsky from Slavia Prague. However, as per reliable Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano, the club are expected to bolster Ange Postecoglou’s injury-ravaged squad before the transfer window slams shut.
The North Londoners were missing injured players including Guglielmo Vicario, Micky van de Ven, Cristian Romero, Destiny Udogie, Timo Werner, Rodrigo Bentancur, Dominic Solanke, Brennan Johnson and Yves Bissouma in their 3-2 loss at Everton on Sunday. They have slipped to 15th in the table following their defeat to David Moyes’ side at Goodison Park, having won just once in their last 10 Premier League fixtures.
Spurs are in the winter market for both attacking and defensive reinforcements. Ange Postecoglou admitted last week that his club were keen on signing Randal Kolo Muani from Paris Saint-Germain. However, Kolo Muani is closing in on a move to Juventus on loan. After putting in so much effort to sign the Frenchman, missing out on the striker is a big blow to Postecoglou and Spurs.

Tottenham have seemingly shifted their focus elsewhere to strengthen the Australian boss’s attacking ranks. According to a report from TEAMtalk, Spurs are considering a ‘blockbuster’ move for Ipswich Town striker Liam Delap. The young Englishman is admired by Postecoglou and his club are open to making a swoop this month, but face competition from London rivals Chelsea.
Liam Delap left Manchester City to join newly promoted Ipswich Town during the summer transfer window. He has been leading the Tractor Boys’ survival charge with eight goals and two assists in 21 appearances, catching the eye with his direct running. pace, power, physicality, aerial ability and work ethic. Therefore, it is not surprising that he finds himself on the radars of high-profile Premier League clubs.
The Winchester-born talent has already netted some big goals this season, including Ipswich’s 2-1 win over Tottenham at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. The England under-23 international is a unique opportunity given how he is blossoming at Ipswich under Kieran McKenna; however, Manchester City do retain control over Delap’s future having inserted a buy-back clause.

The Tractor Boys will demand a minimum of £40million for Delap this month, so it will be up to Levy to either loosen his purse strings and bring the striker in or move on to other alternative targets. With Dominic Solanke and Brennan Johnson becoming the latest injury victims, Tottenham must splash the cash to sign Delap as soon as possible.
