Tottenham-linked Thomas Kristensen is attracting interest from Juventus
An unprecedented injury situation have completely decimated Tottenham Hotspur’s squad this season and they currently sit in 15th place in the Premier League table.
Spurs succumbed to a 3-2 defeat to relegation-threatened Everton on Sunday—their 12th loss of the Premier League season. Before that game, Ange Postecoglou lost Dominic Solanke and Brennan Johnson to injuries. They currently have 11 players on the sidelines, and without new signings, it looks difficult for Ange Postecoglou to turn things around.
The North Londoners are reportedly in the market for defenders this winter and have identified Thomas Kristensen as a potential signing, after the Dane’s impressive performances for Udinese in Serie A.
-> Tottenham can land Serie A target for just €16.5m

The 23-year-old has been plying his trade for Udinese since 2023. He had a decent first season in Serie A, racking up 26 appearances. However, Thomas Kristensen has endured an injury-hit 2024/25 campaign, limiting him to just 10 league appearances thus far. The Aarhus-born talent caught the attention of Spurs scouts while on a trip to Italy for Udinese’s league game against Fiorentina before Christmas.
However, Tottenham are not the only club interested in Kristensen’s signature. According to a report from The Daily Mail, Juventus have held discussions over a move for Udinese’s defensive wall. Their sporting director Cristiano Giuntoli has been in talks with the 23-year-old’s camp over recent days ahead of a possible swoop.
This will come as a massive blow for Tottenham. At 23, Kristensen does suit Daniel Levy’s transfer policy of late, and he fits the profile of a player who can perform well in Ange Postecoglou’s system at White Hart Lane. The Australian would love a central defender with physicality, aerial prowess, fighting spirit and leadership skills, and the Dane has these qualities in him.

For the Lilywhites, it is crucial to ensure that they bring in a new central defender in this transfer window as cover for the first-choice centre-back pair Cristian Romero and Micky van de Ven, who are currently out injured. Although tied with Udinese until 2028 (Transfermarkt), the Serie A side are open to selling Kristensen for €16.5m which could actually represent a bargain for Spurs if they manage to land him.
-> Tottenham eyeing Udinese star to shore up injury-hit defence
Juventus have already struck Spurs a blow by luring Randal Kolo Muani on loan from Paris Saint-Germain, with the Frenchman soon set to sign on the dotted lines. Given the Turin giants’ presence in the Champions League and a new project under Thiago Motta, it is not rocket science to understand that they would be favourites to land Kristensen if he decides to leave Udinese this month.
