Tottenham, after backing Ange Postecoglou through the January transfer window, are willing to reinforce themselves before deadline day.
Among other names, they are being linked with a player all too familiar with the Hotspur Way faithful.
Tottenham linked with Jack Grealish—again
As reported by Football London, Tottenham Hotspur have emerged as potential suitors of Manchester City forward Jack Grealish.
The 29-year-old’s form has improved slightly in recent weeks after he went famously goalless for the entirety of last year. In total, he has a goal and four assists for the Cityzens in 21 appearances.
City, having had a torrid form in recent months, have begun picking up form of late and are in middle of a rebuild. The 2022/23 treble winners have already confirmed the signing of Abdukodir Khusanov and Vitor Reis, with Omar Marmoush’s arrival from Eintracht Frankfurt imminent. This leaves the door open for Grealish’s departure.
The England international’s current Man City contract runs until June 2027. This is not the first time Grealish has been linked with Spurs. The Lilywhites pursued him for long back when he was a youngster at Aston Villa, though a move never materialised.
TTLB Opinion
Even if City would be happy to see the back of him, Grealish is not going to come cheap. Unless Spurs can get a cut-price deal for him, it’s unlikely a move arrives in the near future.
On form, Grealish could wreak havoc in Ange Postecoglou’s setup, both as a left-winger or a central midfielder operator as an eight.
That’s the issue, however, he has not been on form for a while, but maybe leaving Pep Guardiola and move to a club where he’s allowed to express himself on the pitch freely is exactly something the doctor would order for Grealish.

Daniel Levy had the opportunity to land Grealish for a mere £6 million from Aston Villa in 2018. However, the Spurs honcho refused to yield and tried to lower the asking price. In the end, we can only imagine what might have been had Grealish joined Mauricio Pochettino’s impressive side back then. Hopefully, Levy will have learnt his lesson as a second opportunity comes around.
