Tottenham are working hard behind the scenes to secure Southampton starlet Tyler Dibling’s signature
Tottenham Hotspur have been linked with a move for Southampton starlet Tyler Dibling as Daniel Levy looks to bring in a new attacker to bolster Ange Postecoglou’s roster.
Ange Postecoglou has won just one of his last ten Premier League games in charge, seeing his side slip up to 15th in the table—and although they are eight points clear of relegation—anything but a top-half finish is simply not good enough. The Hotspur Way chiefs are backing the Australian to turn things around, mindful of the fact that his squad have been ravaged by injuries in recent months.
Dominic Solanke and Brennan Johnson were the latest entrants in the treatment room, further limiting the attacking options at the Spurs coach’s disposal. And therefore, the North Londoners are trying hard to bring in attacking reinforcements and have set their sights on Southampton’s Tyler Dibling.

Dibling has emerged as one of the best young exciting talents in the Premier League. Enjoying his breakout Premier League season, the teenager has netted two goals in 20 appearances but his performances continue to go beyond numbers.
Undoubtedly Southampton’s best player in an otherwise forgettable top-flight campaign, he has caught the attention of several clubs in England and across Europe with his versatility, dribbling, creativity, pace and dynamism. With the Saints having won just once in 22 games and rooted to the basement of the table, they are destined to return to the Championship immediately and that will make it very hard for them to keep hold of Dibling.
While several top Premier League clubs including Liverpool, Manchester United and Newcastle United are vying for his signature, a report from TEAMtalk claims that Dibling is ‘very keen’ on a move to Tottenham. Spurs are understood to be working very hard behind the scenes to sign the England under-21 international.

A move in the January transfer window may not be possible as manager Ivan Juric and the Saints will not want to lose any of their best players during their relegation dogfight. Thus, a summer transfer looks likely, especially with the Exeter-born talent, who is contracted until 2027 (Transfermarkt) at the St Mary’s Stadium, interested in joining Tottenham.

That being said, however, Spurs must not wait until the summer and go for the offensive right now. A sublime talent like Dibling has shown he can compete at the Premier League level, and given his age, profile and potential, he fits the bill perfectly at White Hart Lane.
