Timo Werner has been struggling in his latest stint at White Hart Lane with consistency and lack of clinicality in front of goal, something that also cost him his place at Chelsea during his first stint in the English top tier, and it looks like he could be nearing its conclusion, with MLS side New York Red Bulls reportedly keen on securing a move for the RB Leipzig loanee.
With a tally of just one goal in 26 appearances donning the Spurs badge this season, Werner has been struggling to justify his place in Ange Postecoglou’s roster even when they are stretched and have been left on the far end.
MLS calling Werner?

And many supporters were debating whether the former Chelsea ace does deserve to be among the options at Hotspur Way, and the latest reports coming from Foot Mercato insist that he could be on his way away from N17, with MLS side New York Red Bulls offering him a way out, and this exit would not only benefit the Lilywhites by freeing up a place in the squad for a new arrival but also provide Werner with an option to get his career on track.
Given that Werner remains under contract with the Bundesliga giants, facilitating a move to the Red Bulls’ New York side, who are also part of the Red Bull football group, will possibly be a straightforward process.
A move to the MLS could offer the 28-year-old a much-needed opportunity to find his feet, and for Tottenham, moving on from Werner will signal a mid-season shift in optimising their squad.
