Ange Postecoglou’s grabbed a vital win in the Europa League match on Thursday as they saw off Hoffenheim and will be looking to put in a similar performance at the weekend versus the Foxes.

Ruud van Nistelrooy’s side is 19th in the Premier League standings, 10 points worse than Tottenham, who are themselves rooted in the bottom half at 15th place having won only seven of their 22 games in the campaign so far. There is increasing pressure on Postecoglou with the cup competitions bailing him out, although his position is precarious owing to league results.

Brennan Johnson, Cristian Romero, Destiny Udogie, Dominic Solanke, Guglielmo Vicario, Micky van de Ven, Timo Werner and Wilson Odobert are all expected to miss out, while the likes of Djed Spece, Pape Mata Sarr and Yves Bissouma are doubtful for the game.

The Romanian international will most likely be up to the task having been in very decent form lately and if indeed he can have Vardy’s number, Spurs would have done over half their defensive work.

Leicester City could fall prey to Tottenham Hotspur’s first Premier League success of 2025 and their second successive victory in a matter of days. Ange Postecoglou’s side should be comfortable for much of the game with an in-form offensive trio making the difference and the five defenders in the starting eleven giving them a good foundation at the back.
