Despite a tough season yet where the Lilywhites have reached new lows hitting the 15th place in the Premier League, the club remains fully supportive of Ange Postecoglou. The Australian has mentioned numerous times that he tends to secure trophies in his second season, and with the FA Cup, Carabao Cup, and Europa Cup still on the table, optimism still remains alive. Meanwhile, the New York Red Bulls are said to be keeping their eyes on the loanee Timo Werner for the upcoming MLS season, as reported by Foot Mercato.

Werner is currently on loan at Tottenham from RB Leipzig with the option to buy but it looks highly unlikely the North London club will opt for that option as he has struggled to secure a regular starting spot this season under Ange Postecoglou.
For a move to New York Red Bulls to materialise, Leipzig and Spurs would first need to agree on terminating Werner’s loan contract in North London. Given the current injury concerns within the squad, it remains uncertain how likely that is to happen.
Werner set for possible Red Bull return amid MLS interest
Timo Werner, the seasoned Premier League veteran who played at Chelsea, made his move to Tottenham at the beginning of last year. However, he has found himself having a tough time to find his footing, contributing only 9 goals in 40 matches. Despite his previous achievements at Chelsea, Werner hasn’t been able to make a significant impact at Spurs. The team is currently facing a shortage of attacking options, with Werner among those missing, alongside the sadly injured Dominic Solanke.
Given his underwhelming production and current injury issues, Spurs may look to create space in their squad for a new addition. Werner, who earns £200,000 per week including bonuses, appears open to a departure, with Foot Mercato reporting that he is “in talks” with the MLS side over a potential move.
With just 18 months remaining on his contract at Leipzig, the Red Bulls are likely hoping to sign the 28-year-old for a relatively modest fee.

While it’s clear that Timo Werner is set to leave, where he will go remains uncertain. Given his underperformance and limited playing time, a return to Germany seems like the most logical choice. Alternatively, moving to the MLS or Saudi Arabia could offer an opportunity for a lucrative deal and more playing time.
